EPSON TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Q: After refilling my cartridges I cannot get the printer to print. A: When the Epson cartridges are completely ran out of ink the ink in the entire systems is also used up. After refilling run several cleaning cycles to get the system primed with ink. Sometimes you might need to run 4 - 5 cleaning cycles. If after running 4 - 5 cleaning cycles and it still does not work properly allow the printer to sit for 6 - 7 hours to allow the ink to migrate to the printer head. After allowing the machine to sit run 1 - 2 more cleaning cycles and begin printing. Q: After refilling, the cartridge leaks. A: Before refilling make sure to put the aluminum tape on the cartridge outlet holes and leave the tape on when installing the cartridge into the printer. A: If the cartridge has set to long after running out of ink, over 2 weeks, the sponges have dried out. When the sponges are dried out the sponge cannot absorb the ink properly and the ink leaks out. Remove the cartridge from the printer and put a new piece of aluminum tape on the cartridge outlet holes. Then allow the cartridge to sit outside the machine overnight to give the sponges time to rejuvenate themselves and absorb the ink. |
